At The Green House, the holidays arrive not with fanfare, but with feeling. The restaurant’s airy, modern space transforms into a haven of warm light, rich seasonal aromas, and shared anticipation—the kind that builds when people gather with intention. Known for its plant-forward cuisine and soul-deep hospitality, The Green House approaches the season with its signature blend of creativity, comfort, and a touch of escapism. From beloved take-home feasts to immersive themed dinners, this is where winter becomes something to savor. We caught up with Owner, Anastasia Worrell to learn more.

What will make the holiday season at The Green House special?

There’s something significant about being invited into people’s holiday traditions. Whether it’s a family dinner, a festive night out with friends, or a company celebration, we’re honored to be part of those moments. Creating a space that feels generous, warm, and deliciously memorable is at the heart of what we do this time of year.

Are you offering any seasonal menus, events, or experiences?

Yes—and they’re some of our favorite offerings of the year. For both Thanksgiving and Christmas, we bring back our take-home dishes, each designed to feed 4–6 guests. Many people order the whole spread, and these menus have become a cherished tradition for longtime diners.

In-house, we’re hosting a one-night-only dinner on December 12th, celebrating the wines of southern France. We transform the restaurant—menu, mood, and all—to reflect the region. And then there’s New Year’s Eve, always our biggest night. This year’s theme is Moulin Rouge, joining past favorites like Old Hollywood, Miami Vice, and Frank Sinatra’s New York. We love a chance to whisk guests away, even for an evening.

What ingredients or flavors define your winter menu?

Winter brings ingredients that feel grounding and deeply connected to the season: squashes, chicories, cranberry beans, beets, pears, apples, pecans, and warm spices. These are ingredients that ask for patience, they simmer, roast, caramelize, and in return, they deliver comfort and nourishment. They remind us to slow down and appreciate the hands and land that produce them.

Is there a signature dish or cocktail guests shouldn’t miss?

Our handmade sweet potato–rosemary gnocchi is a must. It’s plush, aromatic, and deeply soothing, the culinary equivalent of a soft blanket. And it’s particularly lovely paired with an Italian red. We’re always happy to guide you to the perfect glass.

If you could capture the essence of the holidays at The Green House in a single moment…

It would be an early evening tableau: a table dressed with shared plates, a glass of crémant glowing gold in the candlelight, and the hum of friends settling into conversation. Outside, winter lingers; inside, everything softens. It’s a moment where time slows, worries fall away, and the simple act of gathering feels extraordinary.

What are you most proud of as you head into the new year?

Our catering program has been a remarkable evolution. Guests have trusted us with their milestone celebrations—weddings, rehearsal dinners, anniversary parties, baby showers—and what began organically has blossomed into a full-fledged wing of our business. It wasn’t planned, but it’s become something we’re deeply grateful for, and we’re excited to keep growing it with intention.
