INTERNSHIPS
Cape Fear Living is accepting applications from college/university students and graduates seeking co-op experience or accreditation for its unpaid editorial internship program. Interns work a minimum of three days a week, Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5 pm for two-three-month periods. A keen interest in magazines and digital media are essential. All interns should be detail oriented and organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple demands and meet deadlines.
Interns will receive practical experience and mentorship in proposal writing, blog writing, feature editorials, interviewing skills, social media posting, copy editing, story idea generation & inception, research, fact checking, newsletter generation. Each intern will work closely with the editor and will be encouraged to generate ideas and approach problems creatively. Familiarity with Wilmington, NC and the Cape Fear region is an advantage but not essential. Editorial internships are remote positions.
Skills/Qualifications:

Must be able to work an average of three days a week or a minimum of 10 hours starting in June 2023-October 2023.

Proficient technological skills, including all Google programmes, Instagram, Facebook.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Self-directed and able to work well remotely.

Energetic and eager to take on new projects.

Capable of taking direction and asking questions to encourage collaboration.

Ideally enrolled in an accredited university/college program to receive credit (optional).
