Veestro was started by brother and sister team Mark Fachler & Monica Klausner, who grew up in Costa Rica where fresh, home-cooked meals with tons of vegetables and fruit were the daily normal. It’s also where that happy, healthy outlook called pura vida was a way of life.
"When my brother Mark was working as an investment banker, he found himself eating a lot of takeout and frozen pizza. In his early 30’s, he noticed he started gaining weight and having skin problems. He looked for a delivery service that would deliver fully prepared meals to his door and couldn’t find any, so he set out to do it himself. The mission of Veestro is to help everyone eat more plants in a convenient and easy way, even if it’s only once or twice per week."
Each meal is 100% plant-based and made with fresh, organic ingredients—no preservatives used. You can choose from a variety of dietary preferences: gluten free, nut free, low calorie and kosher. The Flexible Plan options include weight loss (5 or 7 day plan), chef's choice or a la carte (choose 10, 20, or 30 meals). The meals are all prepared fresh and shipped frozen which allows you to eat them within 8-10 weeks, minimizing food waste.
You can choose from 50+ chef-crafted, flavorful dishes delivered to your door. "The most popular meal is the Red curry with tofu and veggies. It has been out most popular meal since day one," says Klausner. "Our chefs choose the ingredients very carefully from our local food supplier. We generally start with the type of meal we’re looking to launch and work with the ingredients accordingly."
