With its easily adaptable profile and rich molasses undertones, rum is the perfect addition to imbibe smooth sipping cocktails. We've selected five recipes all using distinctly North Carolina rum from Broad Branch Distillery, Fair Game Beverage Co, Muddy River Distillery, Outer Banks Distilling, Raleigh Rum Company and TOPO Distillery, End of Days Distillery and Old Nick Williams.

Broad Branch Holiday RumGroni

Serving: Per Cocktail


1.5 oz. Broad Branch Sungrazer Rum

1 oz. Campari

.75 oz. Punt E Mes Vermouth

.25 St George Spiced Pear Liqueur

1 dash Angostura Bitters


Add all ingredients to an ice-filled mixing glass and stir for 20-30 seconds. Strain and pour into an ice-filled double rocks glass. Garnish with an expressed orange peel and a cinnamon stick.

Fair Game's Nutty and Nice Rum Cocktail

Serving: Per Cocktail


2 oz. Chestnut infused Amber Rum 1 oz. Pecan syrup ¼ Orange, squeezed 1 dropper of "Sycophant" orange & fig bitters


Mix ingredients together in a shaker. Add bitters and served over a rocks cube.

Kill Devil's Fiesta Holiday Punch

Serves: 16-20


1 Cup Silver Rum

1 Cup Pecan Honey Rum

2 Cups cranberry juice

1 Cup maple syrup

4 oz. Lemon juice

1 Cup fresh orange juice

Dash of Angostura Bitters

1 Orange & 1 lemon, cut into wheels

4 Cinnamon sticks

5 Sprigs rosemary

1 Tablespoon whole cloves

1 Small bag of frozen cranberries


Stir all ingredients into a punch bowl and let marinate in the refrigerator for about 3 hours, then add a bag of frozen cranberries and serve.

Muddy River's Riverwalk Cocktail

Serving: Per Cocktail


2 oz. Muddy River's Spiced Carolina Rum

1 oz Pineapple juice

1/2 oz Lime juice

Ginger Beer or ginger ale for topping up

4 dashes of Angostura Bitters

Mix together rum, pineapple and lime juice in a shakers. Pour over ice and top up with ginger beer. Add dashes of Angostura Bitters.

Raleigh Rum's Santa Espresso Martini

Serving: Per Cocktail


2 oz. Raleigh Rum Sweet Dark

1 oz. Kahlua

1.5 oz espresso coffee

1 egg white


Shake with ice and strain into glass. Garnish with 3 coffee beans.

TOPO's Colonial Record

Serving: Per Cocktail


2 oz. TOPO organic spiced rum

1.5 oz. fresh grapefruit juice

3/4 oz. cranberry syrup

Few dashes Angostura Bitters

Frozen cranberries for garnish


Shake with ice and strain into glass and top with frozen cranberries.

End of Days Rum Old Fashioned

Serving: Per Cocktail


2oz Rum (all three EOD Rums shine in this cocktail)

1/2 oz Amarena Cherry Syrup or Simple Syrup

3 dashes of Angostura Bitters

Twist Orange Peel and Cherry


Add ingredients to an ice filled shaker. Shake and strain into a rocks glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with orange peel and cherry. Sip Thoughtfully!

Old Nick Williams Painkiller

Serving: Per Cocktail


1.5 oz Jamerican White Rum**

1 oz cream of coconut (we use Real Puree brand)

1 oz orange juice

3 oz pineapple juice


Orange slice or Pineapple wedge


Combine Jamerican White Rum, cream of coconut, orange juice and pineapple juice in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Put in to Collins glass. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and garnish with an orange slice or pineapple wedge.

Step it up to the next level with what we call an Overkiller by using Jamerican Overproof Rum instead of the Jamerican White Rum!
